Virtual Student Support Services
Project Manager & Grant Activity Director
A U.S. Department of Education Title III grant, awarded in October 2008, funded new online services so students could get support without coming to campus. Sandra managed the projects from analysis and vendor coordination through college-wide rollout.
- Virtual Front Door: a one-stop student portal, launched July 2009, that grew to over 300,000 page views a month.
- Online tutoring: more than 7,500 sessions and 4,000 hours of tutoring by October 2012.
- Online orientations: completing orientation lifts the student's registration hold automatically, replacing a manual staff process.
- eAdvising: grew from one counselor to seven, then moved to an integrated scheduling system in 2012.
Blackboard Learning System Upgrade
Project Manager
A year-long upgrade from Blackboard 8.0 to 9.1, including hardware upgrades and a redesigned interface. Because the change affected every online course, the project depended on a detailed project plan and a full communication plan.
- Organized the work across a steering committee, a planning team and a project team.
- Prepared about 800 faculty and more than 11,000 students through how-to guides, interactive video tutorials and webinars.
- Ran 8.0 and 9.1 in parallel for a soft rollout in summer 2011, then went college-wide in August 2011.
- Served as liaison to outside developers and usability-tested the final tutorials.
Cornerstone OnDemand Talent Management
Process & Project Lead, System Administrator
A software-as-a-service rollout of performance and learning management for the Office of Human Resources, Organizational Development. Sandra led business process analysis and re-engineering from contract through launch.
- Negotiated a five-year software agreement and the consulting contracts, and monitored the project budget.
- Led nine months of discovery and configuration with three consulting firms and every business unit.
- Wrote the test scripts and led user acceptance testing.
- Gave sixteen college-wide demonstrations before launch in May 2014, then served as primary system administrator.
Learning & Performance Systems Program
Program Manager & Senior Business Analyst
Requirements and strategy work for the Global Talent Development department, to choose a learning and performance system for employees and to explore selling training to the public.
- Interviewed more than 70 employees across the global business and identified over 500 requirements.
- Recommended a formal RFP for an internal and external learning and performance system.
- Defined requirements for upgrading the Open Cloud Academy billing system to sell external training, working with accounting and revenue teams.
ABOUT SANDRA
LEADERSHIP AT THE INTERSECTION OF PEOPLE, PROCESS & TECHNOLOGY.
Sandra Marie Moses is a project and product management professional and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2009. She is a Provider Partnerships Senior Project Manager for UnitedHealthcare Government Programs (STARS), supporting senior care outcomes within Medicare and retiree health plans. She has been with UnitedHealth Group since 2019, previously as a digital product manager at UnitedHealthcare and Optum and as a senior IT project manager and scrum master at WellMed.
She spent much of her early career in higher education, including management roles at Cuyahoga Community College, where she led federally funded student support services and enterprise system implementations. She is committed to agile methods and teaches project management through Louisiana State University continuing education, and product management and agile methodologies with a focus on AI as faculty at Newstate University.
